The main skilled migration types   included: Skilled Independent Visa (subclass189), Skilled Regional (provisional) Visa Invited Pathway (subclass 489), SkilledNominated Visa (subclass 190).


·        Skilled Independent Visa (subclass 189)

This is a permanent visa which allows sufficient theapplicant works and studies anywhere in Australia indefinitely. Due it is apoint-tested visa, when applicant submits the EOI, they must be able to score 65 points or more.


Cost: From AUD4,045

Processing times: 75% of applications need 6 months; 90% of applications need 7 months.

Eligibility:

1)     The applicant can only apply for this visa whenDepartment of Home Affairs invited the applicant after submitting an expressionof interest (EOI) through SkillSelect..

2)     The suitable skills assessment is necessary for theapplicant at the time of invitation.

3)     The applicant must be aged equal or under 45when the government invite.

4)     When the applicant submits the EOI, they must beable to score 65 points or more. To calculate how many points you may core usethe points table.

5)     Meet the level of English- at least IELTS 6 orequivalent.

7)     Meet the health requirement and the charactercriteria


·        Skilled Work Regional (provisional) Visa (subclass 491)

This visa allows the applicant stay in Australia for up to 5 years from the date granted. For this visa , there are two types of them-sponsorship by an eligible relative or state nominated. When the applicant holdthis visa, they can apply for permanent residency, if eligible through theSkilled-Regional (Residence) visa (subclass 887)


Cost: From AUD 4,045

Processing times: 75%of applications need 8 months, 90% of applications need 12 months.

Eligibility:

1)     The applicant can only apply for this visa whenDepartment of Home Affairs invited the applicant after submitting an expressionof interest (EOI)

2)     The applicant must be either nominated by an Australian State or Territory government agency or indicate that you will besponsored by an eligible relative.


Nomination by an Australian State or Territory government agency

If you are nominated for the visa, Department of HomeAffairs will invite you to apply.

All state and territorygovernment agencies have their own criteria for deciding who they willnominate. Contact the state or territory agency directly to find out more abouttheir nomination process and what they want from you.

Sponsorship by an eligible relative

Your sponsor must:

§ be 18 years old or older

§ live in a designated area of Australia

§ be an Australian citizen, an Australianpermanent resident, or an eligible New Zealand citizen

§ be your or your partner's relative

We must approve your sponsorship before you can be granted avisa.


3)     The applicant must be aged equal or under 45 when the government invite.

4)     The suitable skills assessment is necessary for the applicant at the time of invitation.   

5)     Meet the level of English- for IELTS: At least 6for each of the 4 components. For TOEFL iBT: At least 12 for listening, 13 forreading, 21 for writing and 18 for speaking. For PTE Academic: At least 50 foreach of the 4 components. For OET: At least B for each of the 4 components. ForCambridge C1 Advanced test: At least 169 in each of the 4 components.

6)     Meet the health requirement and the character criteria.

7)     When the applicant submits the EOI, they must beable to score 65 points or more. To calculate how many points you may core usethe points table.

8)     If the applicant owes the Australian Governmentmoney, they must have paid it back or have a formal arrangement to pay it back.

9)     The applicant need to sign the Australian values statement


·         Skilled Nominated Visa (subclass 190)

Processing times: 75%of applications need 9months, 90% of applications need 12 months.


Eligibility:

1)     The applicant can only apply for this visa whenDepartment of Home Affairs invited the applicant after submitting an expressionof interest (EOI)

2)     The applicant must have been nominated for thisvisa by an Australian State or territory government agency. All state andterritory government agencies have their own criteria for deciding whothey will nominate. Contact the state or territory agency directly to find outmore about their nomination process and what they want from you.

If the state or territory agency that nominates youwithdraws your nomination after you have applied, your application is becomes invalid.

      3The applicant must declare that they have a suitable skillsassessment at the time of invitation.

      4The applicant must be aged equal or under 45 when thegovernment invite.

      5The subclass 190 is a points-tested visa.

        When yousubmit your EOI in SkillSelect you will be given an indicative points scorebased on the claims you have made. If you do not obtain a score of 65 pointsyou will not be invited to apply for this visa.

      6Meet the level of English- for IELTS: At least 6 for each ofthe 4 components.

      8The applicant need to sign the Australian values statement

      9The applicant might not be eligible for this visa if youhave had a visa cancelled or refused while you were in Australia.
